Kakanui is famous for its stunning sunflower fields. Grown by Topflite for their premium seed, these sunflower fields have become an iconic backdrop for photographers and film crews alike. The blooms typically reach their peak in February, offering a spectacular view that is well worth the visit.
2026 Viewing Information
This year’s crop is located on Thousand Acre Road (near the intersection of Thousand Acre and Springfield Road).
- Access: While the gates remain closed for health and safety reasons, there is plenty of safe roadside parking.
- Respect the Crop: We warmly welcome visitors to stop and enjoy the view from the roadside, but we kindly ask that you respect the farm boundaries and remain outside the gates.
