Valley Views Glamping is located in the Waitaki Valley near Kurow and offers an unrivalled off-the-grid experience. A unique glamping site set on 100 acres with enchanting views across both of the Waitaki and Hakataramea Valley, and a seven-hectare forest as your backdrop on the foothills of Mount Domett.
A total of 6 geodesic domes, including a large deluxe dome sleeping up to 4 guests per space. Each of the domes are fitted with luxuriously comfortable super king-sized beds, cosy down duvets, fairy lights, candles, seating, a beautifully designed large bay window which enable you to enjoy the expansive views of the valley from the comfort of inside your own dome, and a private deck with comfy chairs.
Solar energy powers the purpose-built main lodge which has kitchen, dining and bathroom facilities. Immediately outside the lodge are two outdoor dining areas and a communal fire-pit. One of the highlights of the lodge is the pot-belly fire which provides a wonderful ambiance. The site is designed thoughtfully with a focus on ongoing sustainable practices; not only is the lodge completely off-grid – being powered by solar, the septic tank is a worm farm, eco products are used for cleaning, all waste is either recycled or fed to the chickens and the water is naturally filtered spring water from the mountains above.
What is really special about the place is the expansive South Island mountain and stunning Waitaki Valley views. Located in a typical New Zealand South Island farming location it benefits from very quiet surroundings, combined with fabulous stargazing opportunities, massage in the domes and best of all, outdoor baths in the forest.
